A new night club named Shelter will open in Amsterdam in time for the Amsterdam Dance Event next month.
The 700 capacity venue is located under the IJ river bank near Amsterdam city centre.
Merijn van den Heuvel, Kolja Verhage and Milan van Oijen are helming the project. The trio have experience of working for clubs and dance organisations spanning AIR, Trouw, LET and Deep House Amsterdam, and look set to continue their fine work with this new venture, promising “a nightclub that is on the vanguard of club technology and innovative use of space.”
Details of the four night ADE program on the club’s opening weekend across October 20 to 23 have been announced, with Jackmaster presents Mastermix, Clone Records, Semantica Diez and Joris Voorn hosting parties.
The ADE events are billed to run from 11pm through to 8am, but Shelter has been granted a 24-hour licence by local government, suggesting non-stop party weekends akin to De School’s ADE plans could take place in future.
